No, there really is no more to this than the thumbnail.

I had a similarly boring domestic day - washing, buying sheets, replacing the lost linch pin (how? where?) that holds my trailer to my bike - in the little bit of southern Europe's heat that has reached us. High 20s but please don't mock as we wilt, halve our walking speeds and take siestas.

I went over to my house in the cooler evening to water the plants in pots - my grafted apples, some herbs and lettuces - but the back of the house has now gone so the builders have shored it up with board and I couldn't get into the garden. Plan B, to go through the neighbours' garden, didn't work either, so the plants remained thirsty.
