A Final Beach Day

With the weather forecast to turn stormy tomorrow, we thought we’d have one more day on the beach before we return home on Sunday.

We headed back to Kastani beach (see extra), which is where most of the buses terminate, with only 3 a day going on to Glossa, and, with things getting busier this week, you’re guaranteed to be able to get on a bus back.

Sure enough, the late afternoon bus back was very popular and by the time we had gone another two stops back towards Skopelos, every seat was taken and people were crammed in the aisle and the stairwells.

To avoid having to go past the remaining stops, presumably, and face the wrath of those unable to get on our driver decided to veer off the normal route across an even hillier, more windy and more narrow road, sounding the horn vociferously at every bend and veering alarmingly to the edge of the road in the face of any traffic that happened to  be coming towards us. It made for an invigorating journey!

Tonight’s meal was a more sedate affair, involving a very tasty combination of sea bass (Tess) and calamari (me), simply grilled on the BBQ in a lemon and pepper sauce.

This boat in the harbour has it left it’s mooring the whole two weeks we’ve been here. We reckon it’s the only one we might just be able to afford!
