Peaceful time at Charlestown

It was too hot for me here today!

So Boris is finally going! His arrogance and conceit is similar to Trump’s. It can’t be HIS fault but the fault of MPs for behaving  like a herd with their mass resignations!  So many of those resigning spoke of the lack of integrity of Boris, which seemed to me to be a thinly disguised way of saying he’s a liar. He was. He is. He seemed to believe (as many public school educated pupils think) that when you break the rules, the procedure is to blatantly lie about what you’ve done, and then when you are ‘found out’ you just say ‘I apologise’ and carry on as before!

Now there is no effective government - how dare he say he’s staying on and appoint anew cabinet  - there seems go be no one noticing that Covid infection rates are rising steeply. I’ve heard a vague statement that there will be more boosters for the over fifties in the autumn. But until then a lot of people could get quite I’ll. quite ill. Why wait? Most of the older people have had their last vaccination over 6 months ago. Of course Boris will have nothing to boast about now if he offers vaccinations before the autumn, so there’s no motivation. But if he’s a ‘caretaker’ PM, I’d like to see him taking care! The announcements, due next week, about help with the cost of living issue have been cancelled. So people struggle on without help, because if seems this ‘caretaker’ govt is going to do NOTHING.

I dare you to Google the amount of redundancy pay senior ministers can get when they resign!
