Blow Away
Arrived at the gym this evening to find we were the only ones in. Which meant that it was pretty warm inside - no surprise as the sun had been beating down on the roof all day.
The accepted method of cooling things down is to raise the shutter downstairs by a foot or so, and open the window upstairs. This causes a draught through the building which definitely helps. But I was doing a bit of a circuit upstairs and a gentle breeze was not enough so I had to turn the fan on.
This is very much the “nuclear option” as it has been drummed in to us members that due to rising energy costs, we should only use the fan if we are actually in danger of combusting! And even then, we should only use it on the lowest speed setting.
Thankfully, a mere 30 seconds was enough to cool me down and I could turn the fan off because the rest of my workout would be downstairs, which is always a few degrees cooler anyway.
Back home now with all the doors and windows wide open. But it’s still very warm. Maybe I should have “borrowed” the fan for a bit…
