Summertime...

... and the living is easy, especially for this little native Douglas squirrel, relaxing in our bird feeder after eating his fill. 

I'm always amazed at how a squirrel can squish itself through one of the small square openings of the feeder to get at the bird food, eat as much as desired, and still be able to exit!

The light was different today from my earlier Douglas squirrel photos, so I don't know if this is the same squirrel. Even though I walked right up to the bird feeder, the squirrel didn't move for several minutes, then suddenly made a speedy exit.
