Prawn Boat
We’re having another slow lazy day here.
We walked around town, and down all the piers, and around the harbour, taking lots of photos.
There were lots of visitors enjoying the glorious sunshine and I fully expected there to be a queue for ice cream at John’s Sweetie Shop, but we were in luck. One small vanilla cone for Geordie and one large coffee cone for me which we ate on a seat along the shore enjoying the view across the Firth of Forth to East Lothian.
The bathing pool was busy, with the wee park beside the house being used as an overspill car park. Grrr!
Back in the fifties and sixties when the pool here was very popular it was different times. People didn’t arrive in droves from all over. It was mainly local people who used the pools. Most of the villages around here have their own tidal pools. But now most people arrive by car and the car park can’t accommodate them all, so they use the small grassy park, which then annoys the locals, myself included. It’s a tough balance. It’s so good to see families in the pool having a great time and enjoying themselves, but there’s always a down side. Basically you can’t please all the people all of the time.
When we came along the beach on West shore we spotted lots of jellyfish so I put some in Extra.
I have a feeling the rest of the day is going to be pretty easy-going too. This is the life.
