fishing for nectar

My father and brother were both excellent anglers, preferring to cast their lines with dry flies for trout. I never got the hang of it, but I did enjoy watching them whip the rod back and forth while spooling out the line. I also liked watching Dad make his own flies.
Seeing the long proboscis of this creature in action brought back many fond memories.
