The Irish Workhouse Centre, Portumna

I have made several attempts to post todays blip and narrative but the WiFi in the cabin has crashed each time I have tried to post. I am going to post now and then add a narrative.

And the first hurdle has been overcome.

Lovely weather today. Hot with beautiful blue skies.

Took lots of images but this one reflects the impression the Workhouse visit left with me. ( save again and fingers crossed )

The sculpture is part of an exhibition “ Dark Shadows - An Irish Famine Exhibition”. The creator is an artist Kieran Tuohy who carved these wonderful and moving sculptures from material found in Irish Bogs.
