Oh what a tangled web we weave

It's not often (if ever) that I get into work for 6am...especially on a Saturday, but this weekend is the big network upgrade and I wanted to be in to check that all the critical systems were doing what they were supposed to when the network was switched off, and certainly before the old cables started getting unceremoniously cut.
Thankfully, all of our mitigations and contingencies seemed to be holding so it was full steam ahead. So much so that I was out by 8.

This is part of the reason why we need the upgrade, an absolute mess of cables and with a whole host of dead ends and defunct wires that we found as we removed them.
