Daymark 1683

It was another very hot day today, we spent the morning on the beach and then had a bite to eat at the Polreath Tea rooms.

After tea, even though it was not that much cooler, Stan and I wandered slowly over to the Daymark, a daytime navigational aid for shipping. It was originally painted white when it was finished in 1683, and then painted red, before ending up in the compromise paint scheme today.
