Sewage

In the extra photos, my first dip of the year in the swimming pool. It was done once our septicpit had been safely emptied of 5,500 litres of ****. While ours is an approved & constantly checked organic system which flows into a nearby stream, there comes a point when the solids fill up the first chamber. The law in Germany requires these things be done legally & not just dumped in to waterways, even private people.

The rather agricultural looking Unimog and slurry tanker were recommended by our appointed septic tank controller. In the past we have used the expensive flash looking 'normal' businesses. And yes, probably 25-30 years ago the contents would have ended up on a local field!
