Bike, boy, beach
Here is Mr hazelh readying himself for an afternoon of sunbathing on Gullane beach. We travelled here today by tandem. It was so hot at our spot against the sand dunes that we had to make regular trips down to the shoreline to cool down (hence the step count below). At times it felt like we were under a fan heater on full blast.
Other entertainment of our day out included a picnic on our outward journey on a favourite bench that overlooks the flats at Aberlady (this included two Mars bar ice creams each!), family Facetime from another bench looking out to sea not far from the Musselburgh lagoons on our return, and people/dog watching on the beach.
We also called in on Mr Burns to pay him the 50p that I owe him from 4th June. I didn't have a 50p coin, so I paid £1 - still a bargain for my purchase.
For supper we had a barbecue for two in the yarden, then spent quite a long time watering the garden before turning in for the day. At bath time I experienced that strange sensation of hot water on patches of sunburn - eek!
Exercise today: tandem cycling (41 miles); walking (9527 steps).
