Loving the rain

I was really worried that the moonflower plants had been traumatized by the extreme heat and lack of rain as they quit blooming and producing buds about two weeks ago.

Now this one is thriving after several heavy rains. It is in a large pot so the rain is staying longer instead of evaporating fast. Maybe it just likes rain water better than water from the hose.

The plant in the front yard in the ground is still struggling. I had trimmed it back a little and it is trying to revive but no buds yet. I think I will make a jug of plant food for it.

A pleasantly cool day here and overcast. A good day to sit on the porch with a book.
