Queensmere Pond: Mandarin Flapping

Prettier iridescent hues in large

I had an appointment over by Wimbledon Common, so walked around Queensmere Pond beforehand... Most of the birds were keeping cool in the shade, but I was pleased to spot this mandarin washing, as well as an mandarin drake in eclipse and lots of damselflies and dragonflies. This mandarin caught a butterfly while I watched which was amusing!
