Swifts

I know I go a bit overboard on swift images (or attempted swift images) at this time of year. Because there are nests nearby, they swoop and scream over the garden, and I'm always tempted by the idea of getting a better shot at any new attempt.
Today I've just been playing though.  Just being in the garden, watching them, feels good. We have one swift nest box installed, but it's not in an ideal place (it gets some morning sun, probably with a risk of getting too hot for any chicks). It hasn't been inhabited this year, so next week we're going to get it moved to a better site, on a north-facing house wall. With luck this will be in time for the youngsters who check out nest sites for future years, before they migrate south, to find it.
