When I was a post-grad at UCLA I had a close friend called Beth.  After we graduated in 1985, Beth and I went in separate directions, she to Ohio and I to the UK, but we have kept in touch all these years.  Today I met one of Beth's sons for the first time.  He's a singer and had a "gig" over here in the UK (in Wells), so he popped up to Bristol to meet me.  We spent a lovely afternoon strolling and talking.  He is a fab young man and such fun to hang out with.  Almost makes me wish I'd had kids!  (Not quite though, as I suspect they wouldn't have turned out nearly so well if I'd raised them!).
