Copper Coast

After a morning exploring colourful Waterford, we drove west, via Dungarvan to the remote Helvick Head on the Ring Peninsula.  After coffee and cake we slowly returned via the Copper Coast, so-called after the copper mining industry which flourished there in the 19th century. A ruined mill at Tankardstown is the best remaining trace.  Very Poldark. The coast has some spectacular cliffs and pleasant beaches, for example at Annestown..
