The Stone Dragon

A wee trip west today to Irvine and an afternoon at the beach.

Although it wasn't as hot as yesterday, it was still a perfect day to be at the beach, going for a paddle in my case, a dip in the sea for the kids, kicking and throwing a ball around, plus visiting the Stone Dragon.

The Stone Dragon, which is built of sandstone and is known locally as the Protector of Irvine, sits on the hill facing towards the Firth of Clyde, where on a day like today, there are great views across to Arran and Ailsa Craig beyond.

A good day out, and I love being able to take my children to places I came to as a child.
