Chapel Cross Coffee Stop !
We decided to be more adventurous ( well me really, as P has already cycled further ) in our cycle route today . So we left just after nine am and went through the lanes to South Cadbury stopping at Chapel Cross which is horse box coffee and cake spot only open for a couple of hours a day . The woman owner breeds and keeps Jersey goats and produces Goats Cheese which P sampled . The tea room used to be in the twelfth century chapel itself which served pilgrims en route to Glastonbury but since COVID the owner has reverted to outside dining ! She was a real character.

Afterwards, we rode on a little bit further to Teals Farm Shop and Cafe - more of a destination venue than a real farm shop but there were lots of goodies and we ha£ another drink in welcome air conditioning! I was pleased to meet a former pupil of mine from Huish, who was working there as a Sumner job .
The rest of the day we attempted to stay cool in the soaring temperatures as well as taking my car for a wash as I’m off to Stourport tomorrow.
