Not Afraid of Hard Work
Ellie is a hard worker when she has a purpose. My husband and Ellie were building a dam in a large tidepool at the beach this morning; she dug and dumped sand as if her life depended on it. Of course, they could never block the flow of the water, even though it was very shallow. It was an unusually windy day; the dry sand cut our legs as we walked toward the wet sand, but those two were determined to dig in the sand. They had fun, but they didn't hesitate when I gave them the "5-minute warning" to leave. It was pleasantly warm at 72F, but the North Wind was fierce.
In the afternoon, Ellie and I painted. It is interesting how Ellie went from not wanting to draw or color anything to someone improving her writing, drawing, and coloring daily. She has a passion for painting right now. We both brought paint sets with us to the beach house. Great minds think alike? See extra photo if you have time to see her concentration on her painting.
