A' Mhaighdean and An Teallach from Slioch
Went up Slioch today from Incheril, near Kinlochewe. My fourth time up Slioch and I never tire of the lovely walk along a grassy path through the oak wood from Incheril to Loch Maree. There are fantastic views from the summit of Slioch too and today's blip is looking north to A'Mhaighdean and An Teallach. Slioch translates as "the Spear" and A' Mhaighdean, possibly Scotland's most remote Munro, as "the Maiden". I've seen a number of translations of An Teallach: the anvil or the forge, the family or the fireplace --- it seems like some form of hearth is a common thread. The extra is some wild thyme that was growing beside the path, who needs to spend time gardening when the Highlands are there to be enjoyed?
