Hot seeds

JJ went to golf at 7.30 a.m. so I washed, dressed and walked round to our friends to water the garden before it got hot.

Strange goings on at No. 2 at the top of our road.  Two police vans and one unmarked car with flashing blue lights.  I haven't seen the owners for months, except one of their cars was parked in the drive a couple of days ago.  No idea what was going on but it wasn't a burglary call-out.  It certainly isn't what we expect on our patch.

The wren is still hanging around chuntering and I got a few more lovely pictures.  It doesn't seem to mind me getting quite close.  It's more intent on finding someone to feed the tasty morsels to.

I quite liked the look on this allium seedhead and wondered if its tongue was hanging out waiting for it to rain.  We did have a few spots earlier, but not enough to join up.
