Hiding Heron

Some of the canals here have turned a shade of bright green once again. Seems like a yearly thing, certainly in the 4 years we've been here.
I wonder if it means the herons find it more difficult to see and catch the wee fish you often see them with, or do they maybe just live off insects for a while...
