St Mary's Lighthouse, Whitley Bay

This year we decided to stay on for an extra day after the excitement of Magic Weekend was over and do a bit of sightseeing. Today saw us take the Metro (A new experience for both of us!) to Whitley bay. 

It is  super place, quite traditional looking with lovely coastline, sparkling clear sea and a fantastic lighthouse, which is what I chose to Blip today. There are a few extras too as I struggled to pick one!

We walked miles whilst there, and sat down on some benches overlooking the sea to eat some of the best fish and chips I've ever tasted - all freshly cooked to order. I'd love to know the secret of the batter too! We also had ice cream later after yet more walking.

Back to Newcastle for a rest in the hotel before heading out for a last couple of drinks in the Crows Nest to round off a great weekend.
