Sun Sea & Sand
My final back blip from our weekend away . After 2 days spent watching Rugby league we had made the decision to book an extra day and go visit Whitley Bay a place we have never been. After last night darkness in the hotel room we woke to find the lights still out so when we went down to reception they said the main problem had been sorted but they had to manually reset our room with 1 or 2 others thankfully after we had had breakfast it was all sorted and we had lights again ,
Once showered and dressed we headed into the city centre and jumped on the metro train service a new experience and headed out to the coast to save driving .
A lovely hot sunny day thankfully we had put sunblock on before we left. We enjoyed a nice steady walk and was amazed at the lovely clear blue sea as shown in the extra , no pollution in the sea unlike the Lincolnshire coast . The main shot shows the lovely sandy beach with St Mary's lighthouse in the distance , yes we enjoyed a walk along the beach after we had enjoyed some lovely freshly cooked fish and chips then after a walk we had to enjoy ice cream of in my case an ice-lolly .
Having walked over 20 000 steps for the day it was back on the metro to relax in the hotel for a couple of hours before heading out to enjoy 3 nice pints to finish the weekend off in the Crows nest again . I have included a few shots from the day in a Flickr album
