An Unplanned Day
As you know, our motorhome is in for clutch repairs so we are like a snail without its shell. (Does that make us a slug?) The good news is that we are likely to get it back tomorrow so can continue our travels as we intended.
We were able to pick up a hire car today and carry on, albeit seeing places we would not otherwise have seen - one good result. Starting with Ormonde Castle - an amazing history and really good guided tour. We also spent time in Kilkenny - well worth a visit with two cathedrals, castle, interesting streets and a great restaurant - Kytlers Inn, where there is a wonderful tale of witchcraft and a book to back it all up - The Stone by Claire Nolan; it's on kindle so I've bought it.
We also visited a long barrow tunnel, Kells Priory and a stunning old flint mine. Blip is the reflection in the water that's gathered in the bottom with an extra of the weir in Kilkenny.
