Billy Goat

Back in her element

Early start (well by our standards anyway) and down to the club, two boats were already on the slip with a third just about to go down so we scurried about getting stuff on board before they towed us out to the slip.
Then followed two and a bit hours waiting for the tide. During this time I hacked 2" off the top of the transom of the tender with my jigsaw so the Seagull prop was below the bottom of the hull.
Realised the oars were on Saffron and the water was all around her so pulled out to her using the trailer recovery rope, got aboard and got ready for the boat to float off.
Engine started fine, when we floated off she went astern without misbehaving and we motored out to the mooring.
The gov picked up the buoy first time, then we had our lunch, I rigged up the new solar charge controller and then fitted our solar panels while the gov had a ZZZZZ.
Back ashore in the dinghy with the Seagull much happier now it can get water to the prop.
A good day.
