Have decided to post photos of all the areas of the garden which are going to be changed over the next two weeks, so this was actually taken yesterday before work started.
I was late to upholstery this morning. I have a blackbirds nest in the outdoor shelter and the two babies fledged today . The builders are moving soil so of course there are lots of tasty worms to be collected and fed to them. The builders and I were watching the parents sheltering them behind my hazel tree whilst dashing out for the worms. When I got in the car I found a huge , stationary traffic queue so turned round and wiggled my way through the town. Still 20 mins late though! Ji had nothing to do so very kindly stripped 5 of my six dining chair seats ready for me to work on . Wish I’d taken the other one!
Went to the builders merchant when I got home to choose slabs for my new steps and patio. Walked up to m and s for food shopping. As usual bought more than I intended and so had to carry it home in 30 degree heat. Phew.
Did a bit of desultory unpacking of photos and pictures but it was really too hot to do anything.
Went toS’s for a catch-up in the evening- hadn’t seen her for ages and it was a bit cooler by then so we had a lovely time.
