yellow dung fly

WFH. Dealing with yesterday's fallout. Looks like access to the filesystem was deteriorating. A controlled prod sorted it out within a few minutes. Looks like somebody will need to look into alternative storage arrangements for this particular use case. zarr together with an object store backend looks like something that should be investigated. I suppose it won't be me. By coincidence I attended an interesting talk on parallel I/O performance on archer2. Really interesting stuff. 

Brief walk in the cemetery after work. I think the yellow dung flies are amongst my most favourite flies. 

Nice dinner at the Greek place up the road.
