Rocks... A museum of them!

Today I have been to the museum with year 3, to have a goosey gander at rocks... Not once, but twice! (I could hardly believe my luck!) So now what I don't know about rocks... To be honest isn't worth knowing. There's metamorphic, sedimentary and igneous types to name just a few! We also had a snoop around some fossils and then had a look at a fossil of a saber tooth tigers head... Which the kids found most interesting! (I did too.... Secretly) And to conclude today's blip... My year 3 standard crash course in geology tells me that the here pictured rocks are maybe sedimentary, if you're a geologist please feel free to correct me as my knowledge is still a bit 'rocky'! Oh yes... And I discovered that pumice stones are made from exploded volcanoes... What a day!
