Cooling off
Another warm day that seemed to cool off a bit during the evening. Met up with airfield friends for Clare’s birthday brunch this morning at Bloomsburys.
I had fun walking around the garden with Sophie looking for the cafe cat Sydney. Oh to be 3 in a fairy dress without a care in the world!
After brunch Polly and I hopped in my car with the roof down and went to Tu Clothing dept at Sainsburys. It was not the best day for trying on clothes in the heat but Polly was child-free and in search of new jeans. We had a real giggle. We’ve spent quite a bit of time together lately which has been so nice now she’s on the tail end of her radiotherapy and will start to feel better as the weeks go on. I’m so proud of how positive she’s been throughout the treatment.
I spent the rest of the afternoon and some of the evening sorting through clothes at home, folding winter clothing into storage cases and clearing my drawers for summer clothes. I usually do this in spring but as my last filming job ran March to June I’d not had a chance.
Took a break in sorting clothes to go for a swim in the outdoor pool. It was the coolest I’d been all day! Pit stop on the way home to collect furniture paint and drawer handles from my friend Claire who has closed her upcycling shop. She gave me extra handles and a paint brush so I was thrilled. Just need cooler weather so I can get painting!
Waited until late evening for the cooler temperature before making a big salad. Definitely feel better eating when it’s not so hot.
