No more bogs
Our last full day in Bowness on Solway. Home tomorrow.
We decided we had walked round enough mosses and would look for some birds on the shores of the estuary.
We tried two places. The first shown above was just a few miles west of the village. The main shot above gives a general idea of the landscape. The first extra shows that there were some birds but they were rather too far away for photographs.
The second extra for my botanical friends shows a good stand of Melilotus officialanis. Sweet Yellow Clover.
Our second walk was a three mile round walk to Grune Point, east of Silloth on what is curiously called Moricambe Bay. A good walk but again the birds were too far away.
The morning’s effort was rewarded with a Gregg’s sausage roll and apple juice for a light lunch.
Its been a love week. But tomorrow we must go home and prepare to face the 31C heat forecast for next Tuesday. Not a good time for the car air con to stop working !
