Pearl edged fritillary

The butterflies are more and more numerous and the pleasure of a butterfly hunt is never lost on me as butterflies are quite difficult to capture. The heat is with us for at least another week so the routine is now established, leaving the windows open all night and then shutting the shutters during the day. Darkened rooms are a small price to pay. I can go down into the laundry room for a bit of cool as that has one wall below the level of the ground. It is difficult to keep the mosquitoes out though. We had a churchwarden resignation so a little more responsibility has been put upon the two of us who remain. If only we could get a new chaplain…
