Allotment poppy

Calling in to the allotment to water the beans I saw that the poppy bud from the other day had bust open to reveal this frilly head which I’ve admired in other blips recently.

Susan tells me it’s a self seeded offspring of poppies she sowed at the allotment a couple of years ago in a different bed some way away from where this is growing now.

Otherwise the day was filled with things, just things. A Teams meeting, web investigations, repairing wall paper, emailing, buying tickets, trying to solve problems, dealing with paperwork. You know how it can be?

We’ve now got a problem with our 20th anniversary trip to London at the end of the month. Hotel, show, V&A all booked, expecting to travel by train. There is now a train strike on the day we come back. Various options are being pursued involving driving up to Greenwich, parking there and taking the tube in. As I understand it, the tube is not affected by strikes. Heaven help us!
