Criffel Across The Nith

Been a busy old day tidying up all sorts of things before heading off for a break en Espagne. Had to nip down to cut the grass at our holiday cottage tonight and nabbed this shot from the front garden. We get some magnificent sunsets here but I was a bit too early for that tonight.
The river Nith joins the Solway about 3 miles from here and it has some very fast flowing tides, second only to the Severn (I think). We get some boar tides which creates a wave big enough to surf the 5 miles down-stream into Dumfries. From the top of Criffel you get fantastic views across the Lake District out to the Isle of Man and along the beautiful Solway coast.
