Kereru - New Zealand pigeon
We had a day at Waitomo Caves. Daughter R, who is over from Australia looks after the IT for their booking system and although she has monthly Zoom meetings with them, has never met face to face. There is a lot of flooding in the area from the recent torrential rain so the black water rafting was closed because the river system was in flood much to R relief as management had booked her on it and she was very anxious and didn't want to do it. Instead we went through the Glow worm caves which we all really enjoyed. In our group were a few overseas tourists but mainly New Zealanders with children as its school holidays.
After our tour we had lunch at a local restaurant sitting outside on the first floor terrace with New Zealand native trees hanging over the balustrade. This Kereru wasn't bothered by our presence as it fed on a Kowhai tree.
