American Robin

This blip is for all the blippers in Ireland, Scotland, British Isles, and western Europe.
The pictured bird is a robin.  Hazelh  (https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2994329824710888907) had just blipped a robin in her back garden but it hardly resembles its American cousin at all.  I have no preference for either of the two birds and I'm sure the one "over there" got the name first.   
Its probably a result of an early colonist who missed something from back home and stuck a familiar name on a bird from an unfamiliar place.
