Bee on Allium
I have always admired fellow blippers who succeed in getting superbly sharp, detailed, close-up shots of insects. It is something which has always eluded me.
This afternoon, however, I saw the bees returning repeatedly to the Alliums and decided to have another go. It took me many attempts to get the focus, exposure and lighting (flash) adjusted correctly, and then many more attempts to achieve a composition I was happy with, but after 143 exposures I caught this one, which I'm rather pleased with. It won't win any competitions, but it is probably the best insect photograph I've ever taken.
Probably best seen large.
