Welcome to the Chill Zone
I can't think of anything more relaxing to mark the end of the work week than to grab the swimming shorts after dinner and head to White Rock for a nice refreshing swim.
When I think that back in the 70s and 80s a swim in the sea within 3 hours of a solid meal meant a quick yet painful death... I remember how patiently we checked the clock before going for a paddle in the sea. The last 5 minutes (from 2h55, death by hydrocution - to 3h00, all clear for swimming) always seemed so incredibly long.
It wasn't until 1989 that Victor Crawley invented the No Death From Swimming After Eating vaccine. He got the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1992 for it.
