Hove beach huts
“Oil and perfume make the heart glad, and the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel.”
Proverbs 27v9
Started the day with some quiet time in Bishops Palace Gardens. I did a bit of deadheading in the garden and then took the train to Hove to meet with my oldest friend. We have known each other since we were four years old and used to play in the street together. Every year he treats me to a wonderful birthday lunch in a gorgeous restaurant on the seafront in Hove. As we walked back I took this picture of the beach huts. Awesome when neither time nor distance stops any conversation with someone. You just pick up where you left off. It’s extraordinary the decades we have travelled together through school college, marriages, divorces, and now into aging parents and the joys of grandchildren. We did wonder who might leave this mortal coil first. Not really morbid just us having a laugh. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend as much as I am now relaxing in the garden with a wonderful smell of the lilies in full bloom.
