Not selling many ice-creams

The International Space Station, whizzing by at 17,500 mph and a height of 250 miles. However, the ground track was over northern France so by using Pythagoras' theorem I reckon it was nearly 450 miles distant from my location.
The ice-creams? It's an Eric Morecambe reference.
