In The Pink

We were up at 5 am today to do our monthly Wetlands Bird Survey. Of course, the advantage was that it wasn’t too hot. It even tried to rain a couple of times. I decided not to take my camera too keep the weight down, and of course I regretted it as one of the Common Sandpipers posed on a rock right in front of us!
The Foxgloves have now gone over and are being replaced by Rosebay Willowherb, a plant that was relatively scarce in the Victorian era but became more widespread in the wake of 2 wars.
