Volunteers
My son is over six feet tall, as is his son. Here they are, to show you how tall the sunflowers are in the backyard. Granddaughter isn't as tall, but she lends her own bit of sunshine to the scene. There was a brief discussion of a human pyramid to reach the top, which was thankfully forgotten. A few years ago they would have tried it. The sunflowers are volunteers, probably planted by squirrels, happily sucking up all the nutrients in the raspberry bed. No matter where I plant the seeds, they prefer to choose their own venue.
We are back to Sunday night family dinner. Warm enough to grill, and to eat at the picnic table.
