Giants Tooth

Explored Ogden Water this morning & at the highest point of the nature reserve came out of a gorgeously cool forest onto a moor.

This ‘giants tooth’ was at the centre of a circle of stones (around 10 spaced out). Perhaps they had or have some pagan significance but whatever their original purpose they act as visible markers for several paths and desire lines leading in different directions.

In the distance a small stone slab quarry.

A hot day right enough but I remind myself that midwinter I would have been glad of this warmth on my bones. One more hot day then back to 20 degrees.
