Sunny!

I went off to the station this morning to visit my Dad only to find my train, along with most others, was cancelled due to "extreme weather". An older, retired couple were also leaving the station and I heard the wife say to her husband "They just give up nowadays, don't they?" I suppose she has a point... They are short staffed anyway so I don't suppose it takes much to push them over the edge. And it is often hot on the trains with the sun beating through the windows. I don't blame them for not wishing to stew passengers in their own juices!

I called my Dad and he was thinking of coming to pick me up, but changed his mind and said to leave it until Wednesday as Estelle was coming round to cut his hair today.

The shop I work in will not "give up" and it will be relentless! My boss called a few minutes ago to ask if I was available to work tonight. I declined. It is not my shift and after all the hoo-hah about me having to work every single weekend they can't expect me to just make sure I am available any and every other night too at short notice just in case... I had mentioned to Brian when the forecast for the high temperatures was on TV that I'd probably get asked to work then. I should get one extra shift plus Friday and Saturday this week which is fine. And if it is hot on my nights then I will be OK with it! Roll on retirement!

I have done some house jobs and paid some bills today so I can do what I want to do tomorrow. Not decided what that will be yet.

Minstrel is fed up. It is not the weather to be black and fluffy that is for sure! He's in the extras, laid on the back room sofa. It is cool in there but he's with me in the front room now, spread out on the sofa in here. He keeps coming and meowing at me but what can I do.. The door grill is on, the windows are night-latched, he has plenty of available water. He does not like the sound the fan makes and I think Grace has taken it to Leeds anyway.

My Blip today is my birthday sunflowers from the Grandboys. I took it this morning before leaving the house, thinking I would not have chance to get a Blip later.
