Heatwave

Today is the day of the heatwave, we are on an Amber warning here. At the time of writing (7pm ish) it looks like it has peaked at 31. On the plus side that's 'holiday in the Med' temperatures so we know how to manage that, on the minus side I just looked up the average July temp here and it is 15 so it is MUCH hotter than usual.

Ideally, CyclopsJnr is signed up for three days of Parkour which is held in a huge dark warehouse. Well, they typically venture outside as well but they didn't today! He was bouncing with excitement for it and enjoyed himself. 

Afterwards MrsCyclops and CyclopsJnr went and had an ice cream. We are lucky to have a proper independent ice cream shop on our local high street. MrsCyclops is generally indifferent to ice cream but a day like this demands it. MrsCyclops had a waffle cone with mint choc chip. CyclopsJnr had a tub with candyfloss ice cream and tiny smarties. 

CyclopsJnr was introduced to 'taps aff', seeing some local young men modelling this Scottish phenomenon. He even had a go himself on the walk home from the ice cream shop.
