Birds of a Feather...
...gather for a final feed and preen as the tide rose.
Always enjoy the view of birds living around the Andy Bay Inlet. There was one black backed gull that was resting on a mud island when we arrived and seemed determined to stay put whilst the water slowly rose around it until it was almost floating.
Finally it stood up , yawned and rose lazily into the air and winged it's way towards the nearby rookery.
The three birds silhouetted are Variable oystercatcher (Toreapango/Haematopus unicolor)
