Rose

It's a common feature of many a poster or flier advertising a summer outdoor event in Scotland and in acknowledgment of our changeable weather, "Indoors if wet". Well, today was the same yet different, and certainly less common: it was "Indoors if hot."

I didn't leave the house all day and took advantage of the fact that the back rooms are cool in the morning and catch the sun in the afternoon, while the front rooms are the opposite, providing a welcome shade on afternoons and evenings such as this one.

Popped outside in the evening to photograph a rose in the garden while taking out the relevant wheelie bin for collection on Tuesday morning, but otherwise I just kept myself cool and sipped water at frequent intervals. Sun worshipper I am not.
