Hot!

It is the hottest since records began in England. At least that is what the news media says. The conservatory is more like an oven and the grass has turned to hay and dust. I am fighting an irrigation offensive with the vegetables but they too are struggling.
Yesterday i cycled to the Lighthouse, where i volunteer and the number of visitors was significantly lower than usual. Staying inside in the cool of the day seems to be the overiding choice. I was disappointed not to see two people who i had been hoping to see for counselling but maybe it was just too hot.
The cycle ride home along the canal was cooler than going by road.
Grateful for a warm bike ride, for ice pops at the centre and for some progress with a guest who has been having a tough time.
