Hotter Than Any July, Aylesford

If anything, today if possible, is even hotter than yesterday. Luckily, my boss phoned me yesterday to tell me not to bother to come in today as there was so little work to do today but that I had to take the day as holiday. My annual leave days are rapidly being swallowed up by train strike days (which I, of course, have to take us holiday or unpaid leave) or when it is almost too hot to move and travel is being severely disrupted by the heat.
We did manage to get out early today for a short run before the temperature got too ridiculous. I wish I could run every morning as it really does help me so much mentally - it somehow short-circuits my tendency towards stress and severe anxiety.
We had a quick trip at lunchtime to try another local pub and sat in a lovely secluded garden supping a pint of beer. After that it was time to get home, change into shorts and relax with a glass of wine and continue to read my novel.
Luckily, and hopefully, tomorrow is supposed to be cooler. Unfortunately, it means the commute back to work and all that entails. I am so glad, however, that I didn't have to go into work yesterday or today. Hence the little smiley face in today's shot!
